Dear RISchendenfreude,

The "timing" you refer to is the timing of a shrewd career politician. Of course Mayor Avedisian knew. Of course he did not want the seniors to know. Of course he gave the seniors "the shaft" as you say, but that is the politics of Scott Avedisian. For the record, I would never sell a senior center without lengthy and public interaction. If the best decision would be to sell the building, it would only be after we all had a chance to find a better solution. It would be a group decision. That is the difference between a "working-man, business-man", and a career politician. In the recent election, I refused ALL political action committee checks. Those contributions are only made by people who want (demand) political favors after the election. For the record, Avedisian accepted 237 checks. Let me repeat that. 237 CHECKS!!! I would have been wholly accountable to the 80,000 taxpayers that are paying the tab. He is now accountable to the insiders of 237 political action committees! He is clearly "The Insiders Mayor". I am "The Taxpayers Mayor".

Remember two things:

1.There are a lot more of us than there is of them, and

2. 2018 is around the corner.
