I've heard this complaint numerous times. Does Hendricken attract sports stars? Yes. Can public schools compete? Yes. Hendricken is limited to about 1,000 students. Why do parents make the sacrifice to send their young men to Hendricken and not public schools? Quite simply, our public schools are failing our children in many ways. Sports is just one way. When I went to HS in Warwick, the public school teams were very competitive. Now, they are barely graduating kids ready for college. Hendricken makes sure all of its students are ready for college and almost all graduates go on to college. Our public schools? Not so much.
