"The prison population has been declining since its peak in 2008." It's declining because they are releasing criminals EARLY and having re-entry into the community which is cheaper than keeping them locked up. Problem is most are re-offending and being put back into jail and they have long rap sheets.

Case in point, they are letting Alfred Brissette, 38, pleaded no contest to murder charges in the 1999 killing of Jeanette Descoteaux, out of jail after ONLY 13 years of a 40 year sentence. He was originally sentenced to 60 years with 35 to serve and was scheduled to be released in 2034, but Brissette earned more than 1,600 days of "good time" credit putting his release date to 2028, according to the R.I. Department of Corrections. Thanks to Investigative Reporter TIM WHITE, who used a bullhorn Dateline-like story to call attention to this MURDER/RAPIST getting out locally......where is the news, papers or the Radio??? To date, only Helen Glover Radio and Tim White have considered this newsworthy...why isn't all the media keeping the focus on keeping this THRILL KILLER in jail. He is within the Top 6 in the Country here at ACI.

We need to bring back the death penalty and exterminate those repeat murders and rapists etc.
