Good to see the voice or reason over the hysteria and misinformation about carrageenan. To clarify, carrageenan is a soluble fiber based on long-chain sugars or "polysaccharides". Carrageenan is not in any way a "plastic", nor does it bind to anything in the digestive tract and stay behind. It is non-digestible and passes through the gut, unchanged. Carrageenan has been used in foods for nearly a century without a single substantiated case of harm to humans in any way. It is Natural, it is sustainable, and it provides a livelihood to over 100,000 seaweed-farming families in the Philippines, Indonesia, and other parts of the world. The agendas by a few special interests to slander carrageenan for personal reasons will be overcome by science and facts in the end.
