Report Inappropriate Comments

This is getting ridiculous. This reporter really needs to learn how to write better. She again uses the wrong word, duel, when she means dual in the following quote from the article:

"Another new law affecting curriculum will require the Rhode Island Board of Education to establish a statewide duel enrollment program, allowing students to be enrolled in college and high school courses at the same time, earning credits at both levels."

In addition to that, the following sentence terribly written. If you eliminate the parenthesis, the sentence makes no sense.

"Another law causing a bit of conflict is that allowing gender-specific extracurricular events (such as a father-daughter dance or mother-son event) at schools so long as a comparable event is held for the opposite gender."

Can the Beacon please hire a literate reporter to cover school department news? After seeing her erroneous reporting about laid off teachers collecting unemployment, I began reading her other articles. In every one she has glaring mistakes. If you are reporting on schools, you should be able to write better than these articles indicate.
