A couple more pieces of the pie to add to the farce...

Literally, as soon as the school committee dumped the ALAP program for gifted and talented students and freed up some funds, they immediately posted a position from their new administrator's "wish list" of new administrators they wanted to add in the first budget go around (last March). This person will cost in excess if 100,000 and serve as the executive in charge of the teacher evaluation program. As student population declines, as talked of consolidation increases, the Warwick schools need another high paid administrator who is not in the classroom. This is what ALAP students got for the loss of their beloved program.

Additionally, just as marginal 11th graders learn to tank the first take of the NECAP in order to improve their chances of showing improvement on the second take, the state thinks this would be the perfect time to attach teacher evaluations to these same NECAP scores.
