“We need more jobs in the state, not more people getting high,” said Polisena."

Uh, by starting an entire new industry in the state it will create a bunch of new businesses in the state = more jobs.

In Colorado they have had over 109 million in sales just in the first quarter of 2014.

That is a huge boost to the overall state economy, the profits from those sales get spent in other businesses.

"Polisena called marijuana a “gateway drug” that can lead people, and cited concerns over public safety issues, such as people driving while under the influence."

Alcohol and tobacco are far more of a gateway drug, if you want to stop people driving under the influence why not outlaw bars and serving alcohol in restaurants?

Every time you hear about some idiot driving recklessly and killing someone it's ALWAYS due to alcohol.
