Go to City Hall and make your payment in person. Write out individual checks and get a receipt. If you can't physically go yourself have a friend or family member do it for you. If you don't have any family or friends photo copy your checks and good luck mailing them to Boston. Don't try to save on checks or time. Make everything as clear and easy for the city as you possibly can. In the end no matter how much the cities mistake i stresses you out, they just couldn't care less.

Olsen is new to the job, maybe he can straighten things out. Certainly things were bad when he got there. But anymore massive mistakes from the tax department the city needs new leadership. If the city needs to allocate money for a new system follow RL's adice from above. We can't blame the tax dept. and not give them the support to fix the system.
