Well stated, Joshua. However, as an eight grader, you can not "fail" the Hendricken entrance exam as it is a placement test. The Man of the Year award is not "one of the most prestigious awards" at the school. Rather, it is the MOST prestigious award. All that said, my guess is that you would have tested as "proficient" in all areas assessed by the NECAP, deeming you worthy of a high school diploma. RI needs more highly educated, highly literate young people such as yourself. RI does not need more semi-literate. unemployable young people who are given diplomas for the purpose of boosting their self-esteem while the populace wonders why the state remains among the most economically non-competitive in the country.
