100 years of romance exhibit opens Feb. 12 at Clouds Hill

Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum will celebrate the 6th Annual 100 Years of Romance Exhibit with general opening days on Feb. 16 and Feb. 23 from 1-4 p.m.

There is something for everyone to enjoy, whether you have been married for one year or 60 years, are thinking of getting married, enjoy the designs and textiles of the past, or are just a romantic at heart. Spend time viewing a collection of wedding gowns from 1880s to 1990s along with wedding facts from history against the backdrop of one of Rhode Island’s hidden treasures – beautiful architecture, interior design and furnishings.

If you can’t make it during one of the general opening days, the exhibit will be on display from Feb. 12 through Feb. 24. Call to arrange a time.

Clouds Hill is a museum located at 4157 Post Road in Warwick, in addition to being a private home that has remained in the same family since it was built. This exhibit is the first exhibit of 2014. The museum opens to the public by appointment in addition to these already scheduled openings. Guests from around the world have found this house to be one of the best examples of Victoriana, “surpassing even the Bellevue Avenue manors in terms of authenticity of its contents.” An admission of $12 per person will be charged or $20 for two, a special rate for this exhibit.

For more information on Clouds Hill, this exhibit or the many others planned for the year, contact Anne Holst or Wayne Cabral at 884-9490 or visit www.cloudshill.org.
