Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) has received a $100,000 challenge grant from The Champlin Foundations to help outfit the new “Girl Leadership Experience Center” with technology.  

The Center, 10,000 square feet of space located at GSSNE’s headquarters in Warwick, is being developed into a girl-led hub of creativity, connectivity, exploration and inspiration. Programming will be offered in six key areas: making a difference, life skills, travel/adventure, camping/outdoor skills, global citizenship and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math). 

New technology would allow Girl Scouts from Southeastern New England to connect with girls at urban satellite locations and camps, and throughout the world.

“We are grateful for this generous matching grant from The Champlin Foundations,” GSSNE CEO Neil M. Stamps said in a statement. “Combined with support from our loyal donors, members, foundations, and local businesses and corporations, this grant will allow GSSNE to provide leadership opportunities for girls in our region and enable them to learn from and work with their sister Girl Scouts in other countries.”

The Champlin Foundations has been supporting GSSNE financially for more than 25 years, contributing numerous donations totaling over $3,756,000 to make continuous improvements at camp properties and providing financial aid for girls to attend summer camp.
