11 Warwick students sing tonight in EG

Tonight, eleven Warwick students will take stage at the 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Greenwich to perform in the Twelfth Annual Songs of Christmas Concert. The concert is a recital for students of vocal teacher Phoebe Madden. Other students of Madden’s from across the state will join the Warwick singers to perform both sacred and secular holiday songs. Six of the students are from Toll Gate High School, and though Madden said they are renown for their athletic ability at their school, their voices are strong, too. Other Warwick students are from Cedar Hill, Rocky Hill and Our Lady of Mercy schools.

The event is at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The 1st Evangelical Church is located at 118 Division Street in East Greenwich.

“They sound like angels,” Madden said of her students. “And in these difficult times, people need to hear these hopeful voices.”
