18-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra highlights Kent Center spring event
The Beantown Swing Orchestra, an elegant and energetic 18-piece orchestra lead by two fabulous vocalists, including American Idol alum and top 10 finalist John Stevens, will perform at The Kent Center’s 2nd Annual Swing into Spring Celebration on May 4 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s Garden Pavilion.
Beantown Swing is the future of big band swing. Their appeal is universal—entertaining to both lovers of and novices to the swing genre; the young, the young-at-heart, and the not-so-young; and anyone who just likes to have a good time. They have been playing venues in Boston and beyond for several years and have attracted quite a following. They released their first album entitled “Trolley Songs” in 2011. In summer 2012, their latest album, entitled “Stevens Swinging Session,” will debut.
Tickets are $75 and my be purchased online at ww.thekentcenter.org/swingintospring.htm or by calling 691-6000, x335. The evening includes a gala reception, concert and dancing.
