2 charged in incident after Trump rally

Posted

Two men have been charged in connection with an incident that occurred following Donald Trump’s recent rally in Warwick.

Josh Sandin, 19, of 51 King St. in Warwick, and Alexander Carrion, 22, of 25 Iona St. in Providence, are each charged with counts of simple assault and disorderly conduct. Both were arrested April 27, arraigned before a justice of the peace, and released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a May 9 court date.

According to a statement from Rhode Island State Police, troopers assigned to the Republican presidential frontrunner’s April 25 rally at the Crowne Plaza began an investigation after reports of an assault that took place in a crowd on Greenwich Avenue. That initial probe was “inconclusive,” according to police, “due to conflicting witness accounts and a lack of cooperation by Sandin and Carrion.”

According to police, troopers on April 26 obtained and viewed videos of the incident that had been circulating via social media.

“The videos depicted a very volatile and tumultuous situation on Greenwich Avenue,” the statement reads. “The videos also showed Alexander Carrion push his way through the Trump supporters in an aggressive manner. Carrion moved towards Josh Sandin and spit into his face. Sandin and Carrion subsequently began pushing and shoving each other. As they were being separated by bystanders, Sandin spit at Carrion.”

The RI GOP fell down on this. They should have built a wall. Sad.

Those who disagree with the agendas of Hillary and Bernie seek to persuade through letters and editorials. Those who disagree with Trump cause pubic mayhem, get arrested, and seek to shut his speeches down. You decide which crowd is "tolerant".

Mr. Sandin is registered Unaffiliated, and Mr. Carrion is a registered Democrat...no surprise there; two more individuals who obviously haven't learned "Acceptance" and "Tolerance" but expect it of others.

Mr. Stark, please proofread before posting; "pubic mayhem" is quite a mental image, though- HA!

Good catch, RI. An image we can all live without. Interestingly, a recent Google search of "Trump Protesters Riot" yielded 7 times more hits than "Sanders Protesters Riot". Further, most of the "Sanders Protesters Riot" hits contained themes of Sanders supporters disrupting Trump speeches, while demanding "tolerance" from the rest of us. Can not make it up.
