Two international films will be shown when the 21st Annual Providence Latin American Film Festival comes to Warwick Public Library Sept. 27 and 28.
The Spanish thriller “El Cuerpo” or “The Body” (2012) will be shown Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. When the body of a businesswoman and heiress goes missing from the morgue, her cheating younger husband becomes a suspect for both the disappearance and her possible murder. A witty and stylish psychological thriller, “The Body” has all the suspense and charm of a great Hitchcock picture.
On Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m., the Venezuelan action film “La Hora Cero” or “The Zero Hour” (2010) will be shown. During a Venezuelan doctor’s strike, a hit man takes over a Caracas hospital to save his girlfriend's life. When the police and media arrive, the hit man becomes a folk hero by offering to release one hostage for every poor person who is let in and treated, but the police aren’t willing to let him be a hero. “The Zero Hour” is a gritty, fast-paced action movie with strong violence.
Come to one or both after-hours showings. “The Body” and “The Zero Hour” are in Spanish with English subtitles.
