Ninety-one charities from across Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Connecticut received donations from the 2016 CVS Health Charity Classic at a presentation held at CVS Health’s Customer Support Center in Woonsocket. The tournament – Rhode Island’s largest charitable sporting event that draws world-class golfers each year – has donated $20 million to New England charities since its inception in 1999. Funds from this year’s Charity Classic will support the important missions of a range of charitable organizations that help local children and families in need. Present to award the donations from this year’s tournament were, front row starting to the left of the big check, Eileen Howard Boone, CVS Health Charity Classic tournament chairperson; Brad Faxon, PGA Tour Professional and co-chair; Bill Andrade, PGA Tour Professional and co-chair; Larry Merlo, President and CEO, CVS Health and Tim Wakefield, former Boston Red Sox pitcher, of the Boston Red Sox Foundation.
