The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America (NCBSA) will hold the 26th Annual Moby Dick Scouting Golf Classic on Monday, July 10 at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth.
For over two decades, the tournament has successfully raised nearly $500,000, which supports leadership development programs for the Scouts in Southeastern New England.
St. Anne’s Credit Union continues its longtime support of Scouting as the lead sponsor. Their Vice Chairman of the Board and former CEO/President Jack Ledwidge is the tournament’s founder and Chairman. Additional sponsors include the Bryant Bulldogs, E.A. Dion, Ahead USA and AAA Northeast.
“The Narragansett Council has been providing quality programs to the youth of our communities for nearly a century,” said Ledwidge. “These programs provide Scouts with character, work ethic and values that last a lifetime.”
Proceeds in the past have been responsible for building numerous Scouting programs in Southeastern New England.
“Leadership, community, and ethics are instilled through Scouting,” said Tim McCandless, Scout Executive/CEO of the NCBSA. “Continued support from our sponsors and participants gives us the resources we need to further invest in our programs and our Scouts.
