When Theatre by the Sea’s production of “Annie” opens tomorrow, three talented youngsters from Warwick will be in the limelight.

Sisters Eva and Emma Senerchia, along with close friend Lily McMahon from St. Rose of Lima School in Warwick, have been hard at work rehearsing scenes and musical numbers for the past week and a half. The girls were cast after an audition, including sample performances of singing, dancing and acting.

“It’s nerve-racking at first, but once you walk in, you start getting more relaxed,” said Lily about the audition process.

Coordinator Julie Arvedon Knowlton described the girls as “really pretty amazing talent, performing with some pretty experienced actors. The director [Richard Sabellico] is phenomenal. He is a Broadway actor as well.”

The girls have plenty of experience on stage and have been involved in theater since first or second grade.

McMahon, 10, was in her school’s productions of “Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Seussical Jr.,” “Annie Jr.,” and “Snow White.” She was in Manhattan Man Music Productions of “Honk Jr.,” “The Little Mermaid Jr.,” “Beauty and the Beast Jr.,” and “Fiddler of the Roof.” Last summer was her first production with Theatre by the Sea in “The Sound of Music,” as Marta. This year she is orphan Kate in “Annie.” She said that her favorite aspect of musical theater is the singing.

Eva Senerchia, 11, was in Trinity Rep’s “A Christmas Carol,” RI Youth Theater’s “Annie,” “Seussical,” and “Aristocrats,” as well as multiple school plays, including “Alice and Wonderland,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Snow White.” Last summer she played the role of Gretl in Theatre by the Sea’s “The Sound of Music.”

Emma Senerchia, 10, played Annie in St. Rose of Lima’s “Annie Jr.” and had roles in “Aristocrats” and “Seussical.” This is her Theatre by the Sea debut as orphan July. Emma is also on a competitive dance team and dances with her sister five days a week at Let’s Dance Studio in West Warwick. The sisters said that dancing is their favorite part of musical theater.

The girls are very excited to perform on opening night on July 19, after two preview shows for the public and many rehearsals.

They are especially looking forward to perform their favorite number called “Hooverville.”

“It’s not one of my favorite songs, it is my favorite song!” said Eva.

The show runs from July 17 to Aug. 10 at Theatre by the Sea, 364 Cards Pond Rd., Matunuck. For tickets and information, visit www.theatrebythesea.com or call 782-8587.
