Thundermist Health Center’s Annual Duck Race will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Royal Mills Riverpoint, 125 Providence Street in West Warwick. All proceeds will benefit Thundermist Health Center, which provides care to all regardless of ability to pay.

Family activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and include free face painting, pumpkin painting, balloon art, and games (with prizes) for children.

At 1:30, the race will begin with more than 3,000 ducks released above the falls of the Pawtuxet River; the ducks will make their way down the river to the finish line with the top three ducks winning cash prizes. There is no admission fee to take part in the activities or to watch the race, and you do not need to be present to win.

“We are thrilled to once again hold the Duck Race at Royal Mills Riverpoint,” said Chuck Jones, Thundermist CEO. “It’s a great way for the community to come out and support Thundermist and have a great time in the process.”

Adoption certificates for the Duck Race can be purchased at Thundermist, located at 186 Providence Street, for $5. A Quack Pack, which includes six ducks, can be purchased for $25. The first 25 ducks to cross the finish line win prizes with the 1st place winner receiving $1,000; 2nd place wins $500; and the 3rd place winner takes home $250.

To purchase ducks or to learn more about the day’s activities, contact Marisa Podbros at 235-6887 or visit our website at www.thundermisthealth.org.
