35,000 hours of volunteer service


Kent Hospital recently celebrated national volunteer week by honoring more than 200 hospital volunteers at the Volunteer Recognition Black Diamond Brunch, held at Quidnessett Country Club. Scott Avedisian was the Black Diamond guest speaker and Kent Hospital president and CEO Sandra Coletta presented awards. Kent Hospital’s active volunteers donated more than 35,000 hours of service. The following volunteers were selected as 2011-2012 award recipients: Kent Hospital Bright Idea/Creativity Award Volunteer of the Year, Joan Assante of West Warwick, Infusion Center volunteer; Kent Hospital Make it Happen Volunteer of the Year, Marc Petrarca of West Warwick, Food & Nutrition Services volunteer; Kent Hospital Unsung Hero Award Volunteer of the Year, Kathleen Bunker of Cranston, Rehabilitation Services volunteer; Kent Hospital Community Partner Volunteers of the Year, Avatar Residential of Warwick; Kent Hospital Hannah Hayes Volunteer of the Year Award, Edgar Edwards and his Bernese Mountain Dog Rallo of Warwick. Jeannette Roy was the winner of the Black Diamond Raffle Drawing and walked away with a luxury black diamond jewel donated by Holmes Jewelers. Pictured from left are:
