$50,000 for Special Olympics

Local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees recently made a $28,386 donation to Special Olympics Rhode Island on behalf of their guests, from a National Coffee Day fundraiser held in September. An additional $21,414 was raised for Special Olympics Massachusetts South Section. From Sept. 22 through Sept. 30, guests at nearly 300 participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass., who made a $1 donation, received a coffee cup paper icon that they signed and displayed in the restaurant. Proceeds were donated primarily to the Special Olympics with a portion also benefiting The Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation, which supports organizations focused on hunger, safety and children’s health.
