A Halloween tradition

Posted

Greenwood resident Kathleen Egan-Usler is ready for Halloween, as are her four children. For the third consecutive year, she’ll spearhead the Greenwood Halloween Parade, a pre-trick-or-treat festivity that encourages local children and their parents to march around the neighborhood as a group before they go door-to-door in their costumes. The event marks the 16th annual parade, as fellow Greenwood resident Kim Murray started the tradition when her children were younger. Egan-Usler is inviting participants to her home at 38 Natick Avenue at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday for pizza and other snacks, with the march to begin at 4:30. Dressed as a cowgirl for her inaugural parade in 2011, Egan-Usler helps her son Harrison, who is now 3, into his monkey costume. This year, he’s dressing as a firefighter.
