A day in PJs
Theresa Daly (left), president of the Rhode Island Pajama Programs, and Quinn load up all the donations.

Lippitt School students and staff got to wear their pajamas to school last Friday as part of the pajama drive conducted by the fifth grade classes of Julie Quinn and Jennifer Soscia. With some help from the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, 173 pairs of pajamas were collected for the local Pajama Program that distributes them to needy children. As a match, Scholastic Books donated a book for each pair of PJs. In addition to wearing pajamas for the day, the children got to watch “The Polar Express.” The fifth graders pictured were asked to say “cheese” for their picture instead of “making funny faces.” When the photographer, however, asked whether they would like to make a funny face, they responded like this. After all, it was the last day of school before the holiday vacation.
