City officials, current and former members of the Warwick Fire Department and their family and friends and residents came together Sunday for the annual Firefighters’ Memorial Service held at Station One in Apponaug. The event featured the placing of a wreath at the memorial by Chief Edmund Armstrong and Firefighter William Lloyd, president of Local 2748 IAFF, and a roll call of deceased members of the department. Above, Lt. Steve Cahoon plays taps after the flag has been lowered to half-staff. In other photographs, officials assemble at the memorial and Shannon Crowley and her sons Andrew and Colton bow their heads in prayer. Their father, Patrick Crowley, is a firefighter and participated in the ceremony. (Warwick Beacon photos)
