To the Editor:
After reading the letter from Joseph Amoroso, Jan. 30, 2014, regarding this opinion that discussion of the price of bottled water is “petty” and “nothing but election year foolishness,” I would like to disagree.
To the contrary, my thoughts were, “Hooray for Joe Solomon!” He seems to believe an ancient adage – “A penny saved is a penny earned.” As a taxpayer, I would ask and expect that this ancient economic approach be used whenever anyone is spending my money. By the way, this ancient economic approach works whether spending pennies, quarters, dollars, hundreds, thousands or even millions.
