It was a blue ribbon occasion at the official grand opening of the Shoreline Pizza, 745 West Shore Road in Conimicut, Saturday afternoon. Chris Rodrigues, the nephew of Ward 6 Councilwoman Donna Travis, and Kelsey Connors own the venture that they hope to expand with a bar in the fall of this year. Rodrigues makes his own meatballs and sauce. And a specialty is stuffed pizza with its double crust and cheese stuffed between the two. Connors, who works at Pawtucket Credit Union, manages the business side of the restaurant. She said she aims to introduce an online order service soon. “This is really a family affair,” she said of those who invested to make the business possible. Shoreline Pizza is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. They make deliveries and their number is 737-4992. Mayor Scott Avedisian did the honors of slicing the ribbon with a gathering of Travis, Rodrigues and Connors. He also tried his hand at cutting a pizza with the coaching of Evan O’Brien at left. Then on Tuesday night, as pictured below, Ward 4 Councilman Joe Solomon, standing, joined members of the Conimicut Village Association for a gathering at the restaurant. (Warwick Beacon photos)
