Five-year-old Avery and 8-year-old Alexandra Luca raised more than $1,200 with their lemonade stand on Boulder View Drive when they participated in the National Lemonade Days weekend on June 13. The girls’ stand was one of thousands held across the U.S. that helped commemorate Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which is dedicated to eradicating childhood cancer. The girls ran the stand in memory of their father’s cousin, Robert Venditelli, who lost his battle with childhood cancer in 1987.
