The Hartt Quartet comprised of Anton Miller, violin, Katherine Winterstein, violin, Rita Porfiris, viola, and Mihai Tetel, cello, performed works of Robert Fuchs and Franz Schubert Saturday at the Clouds Hill Victorian Museum in Warwick. “History in Music” was the theme of the evening made all the more meaningful by the grand Victorian setting in which the concert was performed. Anne Holst worked wonders in the estate kitchen to provide guests with an assortment of hors d’oeuvres and bite-sized desserts. Members of the quartet spoke about the composers whose work they performed and prior to the performance highlighted themes listeners could expect. There was some timely humor to the occasion as well. In talking about the quartet and where it had performed, Katherine Winterstein noted they had given a concert in Iceland, “the site of where skateboardgate played out.” Seen here, ready to serve guests, is museum docent MJ Moretti, the quartet in concert and Clouds Hill.
