Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down two cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA’s September 26 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.16 per gallon. Rhode Island’s price is five cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.21. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 5 cents higher at $2.21.
“The supply disruptions and higher prices in mid-Atlantic and southern states caused by Colonial Pipeline leak did not impact New England,” said Lloyd P. Albert, AAA Northeast Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs. “Prices locally have been somewhat steady since August, good news for travelers planning to drive to their fall destinations.”
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 18 cents, from a low of $2.08 to a high of $2.26.
