Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up one cent this week, but remain well below the price a year ago, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA’s May 9 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.23 per gallon, one cent more than last week. Rhode Island’s price is two cents higher than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.21. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 41 cents higher at $2.64.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 32 cents, from a low of $2.13 to a high of $2.45. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area.
