After missing out last year because of a late-season ankle injury, Kowalik won the individual state title on Saturday. It was the second title in three years for Kowalik, who also set a new RIIL record with her total score of 37.850.
"It was honestly such a great feeling," Kowalik said. "It was a feeling of redemption last year with the terrible incident right before states."
