J-DAPA will be holding auditions for its Christmas performance:

An Extraterrestrial Christmas

Where: Johnston Senior High School

Synopsis- All American family tries to teach the true meaning of Christmas to their unexpected guests. The family gets so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday that they loose sight of what Christmas is truly all about. That’s when their unexpected guests make the family realize what the Christmas season truly means.

Characters

Mom-(age 30-40 years old/Adult role) She is always tired and overwhelmed from trying to make everyone happy.

Dad-(age 30-40 years old/Adult role) He is very short tempered, irritable and not very happy about the cost of the holiday season. Archie Bunker type.

Daughter-Faith (age 10-13 years) The daughter is very practical and motherly to her little brother.

Son-Nicholas (age 7-9 years old) The son loves everything about Christmas especially the presents he wants. He is always overly excited about everything in his life.

Aunt Betty –(70-80 years old /Adult role)She is a very sweet older lady. She loves life but is a bit of a scatter brain. The family sees her as old and senile. Aunt Betty is a bit like Aunt Clara from the Bewitched sitcom.

News Anchor Ralpho Aldalpho(20-30 years old)-In love with himself. Must be able to do Spanish accent.

Female Reporter Marla Parla-(20-30 years old)-Very serious about her job.

Southerner Floyd R. Turbo-(18-40 years old)-Simple minded man with a very strong southern accent.

Governor Dann Druff- (18-20 years old) Serious and stern! Always worried about his dandruff.

3 Aliens- (8-12 years old) – (preferably small for your age)-Adorable and loveable little aliens. Must be able to make very animated facial expressions!

10-15 Alien Dancers-(8-12)-(preferable small for your age)-Some dance experience needed.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

1. You will be asked to read from the script. 2. Call backs will be 10/9/12, 6:30-8:00pm if needed.

3. Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Fridays from 6:30-8:00 pm at the JHS Auditorium

4. The dates of the actual performance are November 30th and December 1st, 2012.
