Albert J. “Bubba” Johnson Sr.”, 81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully May 10, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maybel A. (Golding) Johnson for 56 years.
Born in Exeter, he was a son of the late Lester and Mary (Brennan) Johnson.
Albert was the traffic manager for Barrows Industries for 33 years before retiring. He was a 3rd and 4th degree lifetime member of the Cranston Knights of Columbus. Albert was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. His passion was fresh water and ice fishing with his son Al. Bubba opened his heart to every child that entered his home.
Besides his wife he leaves 4 sons, Albert Jr. of Warwick, Brian and his wife Heather of Wrentham, Mass., Bruce and his wife Jill of Coventry and Kenneth of Cranston; 2 daughters, Cheryl of Cranston and Doreen of Woonsocket; 2 brothers, Thomas of Warwick and Edward of South Kingstown; 8 grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan, Kerri, Kelly, Kyle, Katelyn, Christopher and Nicholas; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown.
