Alexander L. Ramsay

Alexander L. Ramsay, 92, passed away November 20, 2013 at the Greenwood Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Imelda P. (Crocker) Ramsay.

Born in Providence, January 18, 1921, he was a son of the late Alexander L. and Mary (Gilmartin) Ramsay. Mr. Ramsay was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and was employed for Browne & Sharp and American Tourister and retired in 1988. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the 79th Division in the European Theater of Operations.

He is survived by seven children: Patricia Timoteo, Robert Ramsay, Kathleen Anthony, Stephen Ramsay, Michael Ramsay, Veronica Ramsay and Margaret Peters; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was brother of the late Walter Ramsay and Margaret Kilday.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, November 25, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
