Colonoscopies are now available for minimum co-pay for uninsured and underinsured people thanks to the Colon Cancer Alliance.
Profits from the alliance walk will go toward this program to help Rhode Island residents. To apply go to www.ccalliance.org and click on Programs and Events – Blue Hope Prevention Award. There you will see two options: Paying for a screening test call (877) 422-2030 or paying for other screening-related expenses where you will find an online application.
Another Colon Cancer Alliance program is the Blue Note Fund. This is a one-time grant of $300 for a colon cancer patient currently in treatment. Look under Programs and Events to find out more and apply online. The Voices of Rhode Island also helps sponsor residents in this program.
New to the CCA website is a way to find our Voices of RI website. In the Google search box enter either RI or Rhode Island and you will be directed to the website.
