Always on the ball

Linda Bradley, home access coordinator for the Ocean State Independent Center for Independent Living, achieved a milestone last week as she processed her 1,000th referral for home modifications. Bradley said she loves her job because with each person she helps, she’s faced with new challenges to meet their specific needs. She works with disabled people to address physical home barriers so as to give them independence. Her job includes orchestrating a project from its design by architects to overseeing contractors doing the work. Modifications that she works on are the construction of ramps, widening of doorways and installation of handrails and bathroom modifications. Here, OSCIL executive director Lorna Ricci and equipment load specialist Kathie Murtough congratulate her. Bradley often sits on a ball while working in her office to keep physically nimble and ready to help the next client.
