America: Divide and conquer

To the Editor:

Make no mistake about it America, our country is totally divided on all fronts. There is no “middle ground” anymore on all issues. There used to be a term in the political arena called a “moderate.” A moderate was one who was willing to listen to both sides of the isle, and “give and take” positions to solve our nation’s many issues. A moderate no longer exists in our political system today – the result of electing “hardliners to represent ‘We the People,’” is a government that is polarized, paralyzed and divided!

Look at divisions that are causing chaos and confusion in our nation today: Republican vs. Democrat, White House vs. Congress, Pro Life vs. Free Speech, Gun Control vs. 2nd Amendment, VA Division, I.R.S. Division, Budget Division, Foreign Policy Division, “War on Women” Division, Healthcare Division, Immigration Division, Defense Divisions and the list goes on and on.

I feel there are two things “We the People” can agree upon. We’re fed up and angry that our great nation is being weakened by all the division.

“Wake up, America,” ISIS is watching us “divide, so they can conquer!”

The 2016 election is going to be the “tipping point” to determine what our country will hold in store for the future of our children and grandchildren?

God help us!

So Mr. Walsh, what is the solution? Should those on the pro-life side compromise on the killing of the unborn? Should the pro-second amendment folks agree to have their guns confiscated or allow anti-gun people to choose the weapons they can use? The country is divided because the issues are divisive. There can be no compromise on certain issues. On some issues, there has to be winners and losers, much as another divisive time in our history, the civil war.
