The New England Amputee Association (NEAA) is partnering with Kent Hospital Outpatient Rehab Services in Greenwich to run informational group meetings for amputees and their families.

This will be the first time Rhode Island amputees have a place to go in-state to gather, share information and meet other amputees. NEAA meetings are free of charge and open to all amputees and their families. Refreshments will be provided.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 4:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Kent Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Services located at 1351 South County Trail in East Greenwich. The meeting will be held in Building 2, Suite 200.

The NEAA was founded in 2004. Its mission is to reach out to people with limb loss and provide a supportive environment where information and experiences are shared and friendships are formed. NEAA believes that together, “we can move from limb loss to “limitless” The NEAA organizes regular meetings, schedules guest speakers, hosts meet-ups, cookouts and other events, conducts peer visits, provides education and demonstrations.

The group advocates for and increases the visibility of issues relating to limb loss. For more information or to get involved, visit www.NewEnglandAmputeeAssociation.com.
