To the Editor:
I would like to apologize to the Department of Public Works for a letter I wrote in the Beacon on Oct. 13 titled, “Ready to make his own list.”
I was angry and frustrated that the city had not come to my house to remove a city-owned tree that had some branches lying on the wires coming from the telephone pole to my house.
I had mailed the letter and they came and removed the branch the next day. The workmen did a wonderful job; they even raked up the dead leaves.
I hope that I can be forgiven my impatience, but living for weeks with the thought of losing my power drove me to write that letter.
