Annette L. (Aucoin) Vesey

Annette L. (Aucoin) Vesey, age 87, of East Greenwich, died on November 5, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John M. Vesey, M.D. and Edward J. Monahan.

Born in Spencer, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Bernice E. (Little) Aucoin, she lived in Warwick and Sanibel Island, Florida before moving to East Greenwich 5 years ago. Annette graduated from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1943, and later practiced district and private-duty nursing. She loved volunteering to “Cuddle” premature babies.

She is survived by four children: Kathleen Monahan of Forks, Washington, Patricia Lundgren of Coventry, Edward Monahan, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, and Aileen Quinn of Coventry; five step-children, Michele Bouchard of Boca Raton, Fla., Susan Vesey of Newburyport, Mass., Marianne Vesey of Newburyport, Mass., John Vesey, Jr. of Coconut Creek, Fla., and Barbara Vesey of Narragansett; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Sue Williams of Warwick and Beverly Gilman of Hope, and the late Beatrice White, Bernice Sulyma, Shirley Pendergast, and William Aucoin. She was the step-mother of the late Terrence Vesey and Claire Vesey.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, November 9, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long Street, Warwick.
