Anthony L. DeLuca, 86, joined his beloved wife of 66 years, Marguerite (Carberry) DeLuca in heaven on October 9, 2012. A true love story and legacy that remains.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Francesco and Antoinette (Mariano) DeLuca. Mr. DeLuca was owner and area director of the Jerry Lewis Franchises and owned the Meadowbrook Cinema in Warwick and Pier Cinema in Narragansett. He was the former owner of ABC Distributors. A World War II veteran he had served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed gardening, his faith in God and debating politics. His greatest pleasure was family gatherings that he hosted at the DeLuca compound for everyone to enjoy.
He was an extremely loving and devoted father of Francis (Linda) DeLuca, Robert (Deborah) DeLuca, Julie (Francis) Finn, Anthony (JuliAnn) DeLuca, Edward (Sarah) DeLuca and Margie (Paul) White; dear brother of Francesco DeLuca, Dorothy Broadhead, Florence Clarkson, the late Genarino, William, Michael, John DeLuca, Clara Coletta, Mary Torre and Edith Collins. He was the cherished grandfather “Papa” of twenty-five; and great-grandfather of twelve; and uncle to many.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
