Fragrant garlic. Sweet oregano. Fruity olive oil. Salty soppressata. Perfectly aged provolone. Bright green broccoli rabe. All the flavors and aromas of your favorite Italian foods, lovingly combined into the best sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes by Anthony Bucci of Anthony's Old World Deli. Anthony Bucci has been cooking his whole life, inspired by a family of cooks who brought the traditions and techniques of the "Old World" to his modern kitchen in Warwick. Celebrating its SIXTH year in business this month, Anthony's Old World Deli now features an expanded menu AND an evening of Italian cuisine, ála Anthony Bucci!

Anthony's Old World Deli is home to some of the most authentic Italian food this side of Federal Hill. Featured at this cozy deli/restaurant are specialty sandwiches which are prepared to order with the freshest of ingredients, straight from the best bakery, markets and importers around. Anthony recently added several more sandwiches, (including hot paninis), to an already long list of options. The newest fan favorites are the "Italian Stallion" and the "Sicilian", both packed with meat and vegetables and served on a 9" crusty baguette.

Whether you are feasting on one of their many flavor-packed sandwiches, their homemade soups, salads or assorted hot pasta dishes that rival anything your mother could make, you will find yourself in culinary heaven here. With New Year's Eve right around the corner, you can even bring some of Anthony's home-cooking home with you by ordering a tray of fresh, Italian food for your holiday party. Anthony's even delivers.

While Anthony's Old World Deli makes the perfect stop for a business lunch or take-out for dinner, it makes an even better destination for a little "taste of Italy" on a busy week night. Now, on Wednesday evenings only, Anthony's Deli turns from busy deli to romantic Italian café from 4pm until 8pm. On that night, bring your own bottle of wine ($2.00/person corking fee) and indulge your palate on a delicious menu of twelve individually-created pasta dishes. Prepared to order, you can enjoy traditional as well as specialty pasta dishes such as their delicious "Siciliano" (pictured here) ~ a platter of Italian sausage, rabe and black olives in a garlic and olive oil sauce, served over cavatelli pasta, and finished with shaved fresh parmigian cheese. Bring a bit of the Mediterranean to your mouth here at Anthony's Deli, whether you dine in, or take out to the comforts of your own home.

Anthony's Old World Deli is located at 400 Warwick Avenue in the plaza opposite Pawtucket Credit Union. For take-out or delivery, call them at 461-9100. (FAX # 461-9102). Hours are M-F, 10:00am - 4:00pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and now Wednesday evenings from 4:00 - 8:00pm. Closed Christmas and New Year's Day.
