The Rhode Island Antique Truck Club will hold the 13th annual antique truck show and fundraiser to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank Sunday, Aug. 23, at the RIConn Historical Airfield.

The show features live music, catered food, displays from the Rhode Island Antique Tractor Club and several antique airplanes and motorcycles. The Antique Truck Club show draws about 250 antique cars and trucks and almost 4,000 spectators to the airfield grounds.

“We are active year-round, but this is our biggest event,” said Jackie Volatile, who organizes the show with her husband and club president Roger Volatile.

“A couple years ago we collected half a ton of canned goods to donate to the Rhode Island Food Bank,” said Jackie. “The show was also featured on Paul Mennett’s show Cruisin’ New England on NESN,” said Jackie.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine at the RIConn Historical Airfield at 2357 Plainfield Pike in Coventry. This event will not be judged, but the first 100 vehicles will receive show plaques.

The entry fee is $10 per show vehicle plus a canned good. Each person who registers a show vehicle will be given three tickets for a chance to win several raffle items that will given away at the show. Visitor’s admission is four or more canned goods per person or a $5 donation. No exhibitors will be allowed on show grounds on Saturday without advanced registration.

For more information call Roger or Jackie at 647-7226.
