Apponaug’s 'Monstergate'

To The Editor:

Mr. Pisaturo, owner of the property at 30 Station Street, is a kind, generous and delightful gentleman. He has vastly improved the appearance of the Station Street property. His neighbors thank him for that.

Were his family to relocate to our small community, we would welcome them with home-baked cookies and peach cobbler.

Our “bedroom community,” however, will continue and increase efforts to prevent the construction of “Monstergate.” When the first shovel hits the dirt at 30 Station Street, the first “For Sale” sign will appear on Dory Road. It will be mine.

Bye-bye.

Lynn...the patch of land has been a dumping ground for the last 40 years. Having a hotel on it will have little neighborhood impact. Get over yourself.

I'm quite certain that you would feel differently if this hotel were being built in your own back yard. That area has always been extremely congested and it is ridiculous to build such a large hotel in that small area. Of course it shouldn't be used as a dumping ground, that doesn't mean it should be used for an extremely large hotel either. Hey Dave, maybe you can purchase a home right next door since you think it's such a great idea!

If dave won.t buy it I will

Many of the same concerns were expressed when the scenic, attractive sand pits on Greenwich Ave. were turned into the job-producing Crowne Plaza. Much better to have Station Street remain a final resting place for mattresses and tires, I guess.

I looked up Dory rd.... it lines up perfectly with the glide path of the airport... I bet it is very loud over there !!!! Furthermore, that isn't far from the railroad tracks... I bet the homes shake when the Acela goes blazing through. Also, she makes it sounds like Warwick is some bed and breakfist located in rural Vermont it hardly is not !!! But the cookies do sound nice !!!
