Westbay Community Action RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) will host a wine tasting fundraiser April 23 at the SPLASH Theater in Jordan’s Furniture, Warwick Mall. Funds raised will go to the Westbay RSVP program.

Westbay Community Action has more than 580 dedicated RSVP volunteers who utilize their life experiences and skills though volunteering within the community. Volunteer experiences include mentoring students, visiting shut-ins, providing services at senior centers such as “Wheels on Meals,” assisting with office duties for nonprofit agencies, providing tax assistance to low-income families and providing medical transportation to seniors, just to name a few. In 2012 alone, volunteers provided 76,901 hours of service.

Event proceeds will help provide transportation reimbursement to volunteers, while also offering volunteer recognition events.
