The CCRI Class of 2013, faculty, college administrators and elected officials attending the college’s 48th commencement paid tribute to Lela M. Morgan Friday evening. Morgan started work with the college in 1967, a year after it was founded, as a member of the faculty. She rose through the ranks and was chair of the college’s Department of Allied Health for 25 years. When Ray Di Pasquale was named CCRI president, he tapped her as vice president for academic affairs. She will retire this summer but expects to continue to play a role in CCRI affairs during the college’s accreditation process. Applauding her achievement are members of the faculty.
