Bishop Thomas Tobin officiated Sunday as the Rev. Andrew Messina was formally installed and introduced to the parish as pastor of St. Timothy Church. Father Andrew came to St. Timothy in February from St. Francis deSales Church in North Kingstown where he was associate pastor. Father Andrew was ordained in 2009. He describes himself as “late vocation,” having felt the call to join the priesthood after a 30-year career as an electronics and software engineer. For 10 of those years he worked with CBS in New York City using digital technology to design computer software. He moved to the state in 2001. His mother and brother live in Edgewood. Pictured with Bishop Tobin and Father Andrew at the altar is John Michael Bernard.
