Area high school students awarded book awards
Toll Gate student Joshua Frank and Pilgrim students Victoria Anderson and Christopher Minett were recently recognized
for demonstrating a commitment to leadership in volunteer service and academic achievement with the 2011 Saint Michael's College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience.
Area students earn Stonehill honors
Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., recently named the following local residents to its dean's list for the Spring 2011 semester: East Greenwich residents Melissa L. Marciano and Susan M. O’Connell, both members of the class of 2012; Elizabeth M. Perkins and JoAnna C. Steere, members of the class of 2013; and Warwick residents Maura J. Clancy and Kristen E. Quinn, members of the class of 2011, Hannah E. Pearsall of 2013, and Connielyn E. Ramos of 2014.
Local Students graduate from Stonehill College
The following five Stonehill College graduates of Warwick received degrees: Maura Jean Clancy and Kristen Elizabeth Quinn graduated with a Bachelor of Arts; Gregory C. Kerekes, Stephanie Marie Lawlor and Robert Browning Edwards received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Honor students at UMass Dartmouth
Kelsey Gallo of East Greenwich and Kathryn Holmes of Warwick were recently named to the UMass Dartmouth Spring 2011 dean's list.
Sacred Heart University students graduate
Two area residents were awarded degrees from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., at the annual Commencement held on May 14-15. They are: Emily Gray, Bachelor Of Science In Psychology, of East Greenwich, and Sarah Riccitelli, Bachelor Of Science In Exercise Science, of Warwick.
On Rider dean’s list
Claire Thompson, a junior Journalism major, and Elizabeth Hanks, a junior English major, of East Greenwich have been named to the dean’s list for spring semester at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
Earn Western New England honors
The following students have been named to the dean's list at Western New England in Springfield, Mass., for the spring semester of 2011. Students are named to the list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
Warwick residents named are: Christopher M. Kundrat, majoring in Information Technology; Ryan W. Rix, in Pre-Pharmacy and
Chad D. Bennett-Bonn, in Mechanical Engineering.
Hay earns honors
Matthew Hay of Warwick has been named to the Spring 2011 dean's list at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Hay is a freshman majoring in history.
Curry College awards degrees
Curry College has announced the following area residents received degrees on Sunday, May 15 at the Commencement ceremony in Milton, Mass.: Matthew Joseph Buonaiuto of East Greenwich and Benjamin Alexander Newman of Warwick.

Domenic C. Ruzzo of Warwick was among 37 University of Vermont students initiated into the Alpha Alpha Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society.

Natacha Antunes, of Warwick, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham, located in Madison, N.J. has been named to the honor's list for the spring 2011 semester.

Malakorn erans highest honors
Julian Malakorn, Class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned highest honors for the spring semester. He is the son of Javalit and Mary Malakorn of Warwick. Highest honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.670 or more from a possible 4.0.
