Local residents initiated into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
The following Warwick residents at the University of Rhode Island were recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: Amy St. Amand, Rebecca Dillon and Christopher Prata.
Rosenberg graduates from Flagler College
Rebecca Rosenberg, of Warwick, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Flagler College. Rosenberg was one of approximately 386 Flagler seniors at the spring commencement ceremony held April 20 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Fla.
Local residents inducted into Honor Societies at PC
The following Warwick residents were recently inducted into the Providence College chapters of national honor societies:
Leah Furney, a member of the class of 2014 pursuing a degree in Mathematics/Pre-Engineering, was inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Honor Society for Mathematics; Michael Curran, a member of the class of 2013 pursuing a degree in Philosophy/Theology, was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa, the National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology; Sarah Cote, a member of the class of 2014 pursuing a degree in Psychology/Spanish, was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Honor Society for Psychology; Jonathan Black, a member of the class of 2014 pursuing a degree in History, was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the National Honor Society for History; and Sarah Corley, a member of the class of 2015 pursuing a degree in Biology, was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Honor Society for Premed.
Byrd wins senior award at Quinnipiac
Chelsea Byrd, of Warwick, won the Ryan J. O’Neil Entry-Level Master’s Physician Assistant Award at Quinnipiac University’s Senior Awards Ceremony on April 27.
This award is presented to the senior ELMPA student in the School of Health Sciences who most exemplifies excellence in leadership, academic excellence, a cooperative attitude and the strength of character of a future health care professional. The award is in memory of Ryan J. O’Neil, a former ELMPA student.
The Senior Awards Ceremony is held annually and serves to honor Quinnipiac seniors in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, community service and contributions to the university community.
