3 named to Stonehill dean’s list
Warwick students Hannah E. Pearsall, class of 2013; Connielyn E. Ramos, 2014; and Sara A. Morris, 2016, have been named to dean’s list at Stonehill College this spring.
2 receive Quinnipiac honors
Chelsea Byrd and Matthew Morris, both from Warwick, have made the dean’s list at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., for the spring 2013 semester.
2 graduate from James Madison
Caitlin McLaughlin and Svetlana Lasnier from Warwick graduated this spring from James Madison University during Commencement exercises on May 4.
Izzi earns degree from Tufts
Jessica Izzi from Warwick graduated from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University on the school’s 31st commencement ceremony on May 19.
Parente earns degree
Peter M. Parente Jr. ‘13 of Warwick received a bachelor’s degree during the 2013 Commencement ceremonies of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, held Sunday, May 19. Parente, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. Parente, majored in Political Science and English. While a student, Parente participated in the study abroad program and made the dean’s list.
Joshua Frank makes President’s List
Joshua Frank of Warwick earned President’s List honors for the fall 2012 semester at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. President’s List at University of Alabama requires a 4.0 GPA. Joshua graduated from Toll Gate High School in 2012.
Local residents named 2013 Coastal Fellows at URI
Warwick residents Ghyllian Conley and Jack Anderson were among students named as 2013 Coastal Fellows at the University of Rhode Island.
The Coastal Fellows program is a competitive environmental fellowship initiative designed to involve URI undergraduate students in addressing current environmental problems.
Now in its 19th year, the program teams students with faculty, research staff and graduate students to conduct hands-on research that will the help students gain skills that will ensure their future success. The fellows will study such topics as invasive species, salt marsh ecology, evolutionary genetics, wildlife habitat, natural pesticides, shark behavior and water quality.
Local residents graduate from Springfield College
The following Warwick residents have earned degrees from Springfield College in Massachusetts for studies completed in 2013: Mark Loiselle, Bachelor of Art in Communication/Sport Journalism; Adrina Riggins, Bachelor of Science in Human Services; Sarah Patricio, Bachelor of Science in Rehab & Disability Study; and Matthew LaCroix, Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science.
Johnson earns degree from Drew University
Warwick resident Kelly Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the university’s 145th commencement. Drew President Vivian A. Bull presided over the ceremony, which featured a keynote address by Shakespeare scholar Frank Occhiogrosso, a 43-year veteran of the Drew English faculty.
Carlsson earns honors
Catie Carlsson, the daughter of Jennifer Carlsson of Warwick, has been named to the Holy Cross dean’s list for the second semester. She is a third year student majoring in biology pre-med.
